Yes, it probably would. I've seen appropriate values (determined by load-testing) between 4 and 12 threads per processor, but 100 is way out of the ballpark. Unfortunately, the only way to accurately determine the appropriate value, as hinted at above, is by load-testing the server with different values. Macromedia used to offer a course covering how to do this (and Fig Leaf still offers the course occasionally), but basically, it boils down to load-testing a specific application or set of applications, and changing the value in the CF Administrator, and retesting ...
