For a knowledgebase app, you would definately want to use verity for full text searches. The number one reason is performance. Once the collection is indexed the search would only need to retreive items from that collection and not have to hit the database.
There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and [Unix] BSD. We don't believe this to be a coincidence.
