How is the primary key set up, if the this field is using the Auto
number for Access or the Identity in SQL then they both will not allow
this insertion however if it is a normal int field then the only problem
would be if that number already exists.

Why not rename your date field to something else instead of "date".
Isn't that a reserved word?
