I think that you can set the variable holding the object to "Nothing"
and that releases it.

Subject: Question Regarding COM/MTS and CF 5

Hi,

We reference a COM Object on an MTS server using CFOBJECT. According to
the CF5 documentation, CF is supposed to release its last hold on the
object once the page is finished loading, but the administrator running
the
MTS server says that MTS doesn't see that the object has been released,
consequently we can have hundreds of instantiated objects on the MTS
server.

Is there anyway to make CF automatically release an object? Does anyone
have any experience with this?

Mary
