I'm building a content administration system for a site which has directories of protected files stored outside the web root which are delivered through CFCONTENT. To build a dynamic menu of the available directories, the admin creates a "directory" record when a new directory is created, specifying a number of properties about it (title, description, access level required etc).
I'd like the admin user to be able to select the newly created directory rather than having to type it in from memory. I'm not sure how to go about this. I know the CF Administrator has an applet which does something similar for browsing for database files, but this will be on shared hosting so I'm not sure what security restrictions come into play. As well, I think the CF Administrator one starts browsing at the server root, and that might be a little confusing for the user. Using an applet or DHTML on the client end will not pose a problem. I'm assuming I could also do something "manual" using CFDirectory - but I'm not sure what's the easiest way. Any pointers? Thanks, Kay. ______________________________________________________ Kay Smoljak - ColdFusion Developer - PerthWeb Pty Ltd http://developer.perthweb.com.au - Tools for Developers cfx_pwcamtech | cfx_pwimageproc | cfx_pwcardcyrpt ______________________________________________________________________ Get Your Own Dedicated Windows 2000 Server PIII 800 / 256 MB RAM / 40 GB HD / 20 GB MO/XFER Instant Activation $99/Month Free Setup http://www.pennyhost.com/redirect.cfm?adcode=coldfusionb FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
