There are plenty of good books on this topic available now. I've heard good things about O'Reilly's SOAP book, which Mike Chambers mentioned (they've actually got several books on SOAP and XML-RPC), and I found the one from Prentice Hall useful, myself: "SOAP: Cross Platform Web Service Development Using XML" Scott Seely, Prentice Hall None of these cover SOAP from a CF developer's perspective, which isn't that surprising, since CF 5 doesn't work all that well with SOAP, but if you're interested in using CF with SOAP right now, you might look at the Wrox book, or at the presentation I gave at the last MM Devcon: http://www.cfugorama.com/cfugorama/devcon.cfm Based on the information provided by MM about CF 6/Neo/CF MX/whatever, I'd expect that you could easily create and consume web services, rather than having to instantiate your own XML parsers, dealing with SOAP envelopes, etc. Dave Watts, CTO, Fig Leaf Software http://www.figleaf.com/ voice: (202) 797-5496 fax: (202) 797-5444 ______________________________________________________________________ Get Your Own Dedicated Windows 2000 Server PIII 800 / 256 MB RAM / 40 GB HD / 20 GB MO/XFER Instant Activation $99/Month Free Setup http://www.pennyhost.com/redirect.cfm?adcode=coldfusionb FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/cf-talk@houseoffusion.com/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
