I'd actually be really curious about this as well. We (the epilpesyfoundation.org site) bit the bullet and bought iChat, which we've been somewhat happy with. I certainly wouldn't recommend it 100%, though... and we have yet to integrate it in with the Fusetalk forums. It's not terribly expensive, but it's not free either...
It seems like there must be a nice java-based chat applet out there. Here's a list of stuff from jars.com... I'm slowly working my way through their list, seeing what's what. http://www.jars.com/classes/jresout.cgi?category=Utilities+-+Chat&language=J ava&rating=All Let me know if you find a good one! -- jon -----Original Message----- From: Eric J Hoffman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, March 04, 2002 4:28 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: old question, new answer? Right, we have a forum....some sort of java-based or whatever seems to be a good flavor real-time chat system. Nothing fancy, just the ability for some people to type in a name and go... :-) Regards, Eric J. Just to be clear -- you're looking for a java chat applet of some kind? Not a forum system? -- jon -----Original Message----- From: Eric J Hoffman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, March 04, 2002 12:23 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: old question, new answer? Anyone have a good, free or cheap webchat program for a non-profit that is Cf-based or you use in a CF site that works reasonably well? Any ideas are welcome...the gallery seems to be sparse.
