I'd actually be really curious about this as well. We (the
epilpesyfoundation.org site) bit the bullet and bought iChat, which we've
been somewhat happy with. I certainly wouldn't recommend it 100%, though...
and we have yet to integrate it in with the Fusetalk forums. It's not
terribly expensive, but it's not free either...

It seems like there must be a nice java-based chat applet out there.

Right, we have a forum....some sort of java-based or whatever seems to be a
good flavor real-time chat system.  Nothing fancy, just the ability for some
people to type in a name and go... :-)

Anyone have a good, free or cheap webchat program for a non-profit that is
Cf-based or you use in a CF site that works reasonably well?  Any ideas are
