You can just leave this alone, and CF will purge it when it's no longer valid. You don't want your database server running on your application server if you can avoid it. Having a fast dedicated connection is a good idea, but even without that, you'd still want your Client variables stored on your database - just make sure that you've indexed the CDATA and CGLOBAL tables appropriately. You may also have to programmatically purge your tables, though; I've run into cases where that didn't happen automatically.
