I am actually trying to grab environment variables that are being set by a
batch file. It was my understanding that OUTPUTFILE grabbed the output sent
to the command screen. I need the actual value returned from the batch file
(like a return variable from a Java/C++ main() function).

Any ideas? TIA.

Yes - use the outputfile attribute of CFEXECUTE to save the output to a
HTML file, then you can reference it.

<cfexecute name="c:\path to app.\application.exe" arguments="-args"
timeout="0" outputfile="c:\internet accessable
path\pagename.html"></cfexecute>

Do any of you out there know how to capture return code from a CFEXECUTE
call?

TIA!
