Sorry about the really off topic post but... I have a laptop that can only access either a floppy drive or a cdrom at a time. I can't boot from my cdrom (or actually, it won't boot, I don't know why), so I need to get some system files onto the hard drive so that I can reinstall an operating system. My idea is to boot from a winME startup disk, copy the files from that to the hard drive, reboot using those files, then reinstall my os from the cdrom. Let's not go into why I just can't boot from my cdrom, I just can't. The problem with my situation is that three of the files on the me boot disk are hidden system files. I can't copy them over to the hard drive because it claims they aren't there when I copy a:*.* c:. I've tried using the specific files names as well as it does the same. I've tried attrib -h on the files. Any ideas on how get these system files on to my hard drive? Any any other method of installing my os is appreciated.
