which means if i dun wan to go thru the submit .then there is no
other way ? I need to determine this screenwidth before i can display the
page properly....so i must get it before anything else...... any other way
out?

on the submit of your page chuck the javascript value into a hidden
textbox on
your form, then when your form is submitted you can reference the field
using
the form structure. #form.screenwidth#.....etc
