does the database server have a publicly acessible IP address? if so, just crate the ODBC source on the ISP for the site, and point it to that IP.

Starting next week, I'd have to move my website to an ISP. My Question is how should I set up the connection to my SQL server database which will stay in-house? I can't'move the database because we also have other in-house applications connecting to the same database. What's the best way to do this? Should I create a duplicate database on the ISP server just for the website. and sync it with our main database here? any potential problems with doing this? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. ______________________________________________________________________ Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
