There is no expression builder (even more grrrrrrrr :-) you can download an extension to DWMX which will give you an Inset Expression Capability :

Believe me I have seen developers say the same thing about Studio when they first seen it - its all about what you know :-) You do not have to work with DWMX just locally. As an integrated Application development tool, DWMX is your man, but for a simple,clean coding GUI, the HS+ is it.
