Dreamweaver is actually not really related to why you see the change from it being called "Allaire FTP & RDS" to "Macromedia FTP & RDS". That change was made in CF Studio 5 (which was released post-merger). If you had upgraded to Studio 5 at some point, you would have seen that same change without Dreamweaver ever being installed onto the machine.
