My turn to post off-topic! Sorry! I have an excel file that is provided to me on a semi-regular basis. It contains names of files, their owners and version numbers. I import the data into a table in MSSQLServer 7 using DTS, no problem there...BUT
and there is always a but... There is a column full of numbers in the excell file that doesn't copy completely in to the table _unless_ I go through the column manually and place an apostrophe in front of every number. Oh...and non importing issue seems to happen randomly, sometimes one row, sometimes 50. My questions then, are these: 1. Is there a way that I can append the apostrophe to each row in that particular column in the excel file before/during import? 2. Is there something I can do to avoid this problem altogether and import the data properly the first time? (i.e., am I missing something?) I think that should cover it for now.
