Thanks all, I think I've been being a bit too cavalier in using CFEXIT without really understanding how it's working...
Of course I search through all my old sites and find a commented amend saying something like "Removed use of CFEXIT due to weird display errors!" Amazing how we forget these things so quickly! Only, not so amazing really cos I never actually bothered to try and *understand the cause* of the problem, I just fixed it. Now I know what the hell is going on in this situation, I won't forget.
