You may need to check the tnsnames.ora file which usually
resides in the oracle\ora81\network\admin folder.

Atleast that did it for us.

Has anyone installed the oracle odbc drivers on their win server and
used it to connect to a unix based oracle database???

I can't get the Oracle or the Microsoft ODBC to function without
erroriing.... I can't even create the datasource.....
