I have never used PHP.. am curious if there are any advantages in PHP
Scripting? Or is this just popular cause its free?
----------------------------

I'm just starting out, basically to expand my skills beyond CF (will
definitely keep doing CF as well...), but also because an agency I do
work for is probably going to be pushing some of its clients towards
PHP.

I guess it being free is the major bonus. Someone else said that they're
fed up of losing clients who don't want to change their host. I'm aware
of stuff like built-in image manipulation that makes PHP attractive, but
with CFMX I imagine you'd have a hard time making a case for PHP over
CF, if you disregard cost. Once you factor cost in, you just need to
assess each situation, what would be best in each case.

But after finding my footing with CF, even though I learn new stuff
about it every week, I'm kind of itching to learn something new ;-)
Foolish to limit your skills, I think.
