Hi all,

I tried to find an answer in the archives, but it appears that the search
feature is not working right now...

A co-worker in our IT department wants to create a web page with each
network printer name with a link to the printer that will automatically set
it up. We came up with a way that links to a shortcut on the web server, but
the user will be prompted to run the program from the current location, or
open it from the current location. This way adds a few extra steps in it.

We want these steps to be skipped (we want the user to be able to click once
and the printer is setup). We tried creating the link using http:\\printer
name and UNC:\\printer name. Neither worked.

The files all have .lnk extenstions.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Terri
