Are you sure about that?
Here's an article that mentions that AOL's beta uses IE.

I could've sworn I saw something more definitive on slashdot a few weeks
ago, but I can't find it again. Maybe I just imagined it...

AOL 8.0 is in public beta right now, which uses the Mozilla engine.
Compuserve has made the switch already...
