Cftree and the java apps alike have no worked reliably from day one, I
wouldn't use them if I were you. There are tons of html replacements that
will do near enough the same job and work 100% of the time across every
browser.

Subject: RE: CFTree and IE6 - broken - an update

Late last week, I posted here that I had a problem that it seemed Macromedia
didn't want to know about, and I thought I'd give you an update.

The problem is that CFTREE (and I assume CFGRID) don't work with IE6 or
NN6.2 browsers. They'll display the tree but not pass the node values to
the form. So CFTREE applications appear to work at first sight, but when
you click "submit" on the form they're passing values to, you get an error.
This is apparently related to the versions of the java plugins and the
version used by CF5. (I have no idea if the problem is also in CFMX. I
don't use it yet.)

Well I posted here that I was disturbed that people had been complaining
here on this list and on the dev centre forums that this problem exists and
no one from Macromedia would acknowledge the problem existed and therefore
pay any attention to looking at a fix. Apparently the solution was to
rewrite all the applications to use some other technology. In other words a
"Tough sh*t" solution.

I got a reply from Neil Clark of Macromedia who said he'd make sure I was
told what's happening about this issue, and if there was nothing happening
about it, he'd see what he could do about getting it on someone's agenda.
There has been a brief exchange of suggestions which I'm in the process of
working through.

The point is, I wanted you all to know that thanks to Neil Clark, a
resolution to this issue is on the way.

Cheers,
