Yeah - I should give it a shot.

hey, i try to be nice. :)

although, you could use my method to redirect traffic to the site so your
clients won't get that message.

Chris,

<ha> You give me too much credit. This is my "pro-bono" box. I set it up
myself and I can tell you that there's no custom 403.3 setup. The server
has a single IP and about 5 virtual sites mapped to it. The only one with a
CERT is "secure.cfwebtools.com". Apparently, since it's the only 443 port
listening - it gets the SSL traffic by default. It does generate an initial
error message regarding the CERT not matching the host info.

they probably have a custom 403.3 error setup in IIS for www.necfug.com. it
most likely redirects to secure.cfwebtools.com. i did that for a site i did
for DOD.

Also,

If you go to an SSL connection for any other site on this box:

https://www.necfug.com, it automatically resolves to
https://secure.cfwebtools.com/

which then redirects to that charity auction site.

I guess since secure.cf... is the only site handling SSL, it serves as the
default.

Bud,

We kinda figured out why this works in spite of the MS article (or I guess
as additional information to the article) . I only have one cert on this
box - therefore the web server doesn't have any conflicts - it basically
knows that any SSL request will be served with that one cert.

secure.cfwebtools.com 204.77.185.157

Can you tell us of another domain using that IP Address?

cfwebtools.com 204.77.185.168
www.cfwebtools.com 204.77.185.168
