Using web services in CF5 is painful at best. You can think of a web service as an http call where you send a command via SOAP and you get back an XML document in return, also in SOAP.
In CFMX, this is all taken care of for you. In CF5, you have to write the all the SOAP stuff yourself. This is not fun. In fact, I'd rather get my wisdom teeth pulled out than do that.
