I've got a particular query in which I'd like to have the ORDER BY clause dynamic so that I can pass it into my CFC as an argument. Piece of cake except for a minor detail. If the order by column is a string I need to use UPPER() in order for it to be ordered properly...and contrary to that, if I use UPPER() and the column is numeric it gets casted to a string !! Catch 22. There may be a simple solution...anyone have a suggestion?
