Well I'm New to the list & this is my first post.

I've read the whole thread... and developing CMS sound interesting.

I wouldn't mind helping out, been using CF since the very start. I'm pretty
sure I was client number 50 or so :) Well maybe not that low. Anyways I'm
new to the whole open source group development process.

I would consider myself advanced cold fusion developer, and would help
develop the project. It always a great way to sharpen the skills... As for
method.. as long as it's planned well I don't care. And that's the key
planning...

My 2 cents or (1.2 Canadian cents).

Requirements, Requirements, Requirements
Model, model , model...

If there are some UML Guru's (I'm still learning) A blueprint has to be the
first step before we write a line of code. If we look at ourselves as the
client... and get all of our requirements written down, and break the
project down into manageable pieces, then we all can take a pieces and get
the ball rolling.

We can then spec out sections for development once we "sign off" on area's
on the model.

Organizing leads, juniors, DBA etc.. Well need alist so the areas of work
could be speced out

Platform & database.. I'm sure the plan can incorporate all database
structures if it's modeled correctly, with people in certain areas of
expertise they can change the code to work on any platform. An opensoucre DB
would have to be the obvious choice since this is to be open source project
but hey... CF isn't free.

If the project is well documented before we write code then it will move
very smoothly & quick..

If we can start to: (Any UML ppl can step in here and define your
process.... right now)
1. Generate a list of requirements, (wish list),
2. Someone or a team to model the project
3. Team members

If I'm off on how to plan a open source project (never done one before) then
someone please correct me.

Thanks.
