You can't do the one line REReplace because there's no way to execute
code for each match (that's more a Ruby sort of thing). You could
probably do it with a REFind returning match positions in a few lines
of code, but I actually think this is more efficient both in lines of
code and work for your CPU - I imagine the templates change
relatively infrequently, so it seems a shame to re-parse them for
substitutions every time you send one.
