It all depends on your needs: - number of attendees - duration of calls - need for interaction, such as polls, messaging, etc (or just broadcast) - shared desktop support (to show demos of code from your desktop), or only ability to show powerpoints? - option for client(s) to show their desktop to you - need for voice over the web, or voice over the phone - if phone, an 800 number for folks to call in on, or a long distance number - ability to record the presentation (beware that if voice is over phone, harder then to record participant voices) - whether the recorded presentation is hosted elsewhere (at what fee) or can be downloaded and placed on your own server- software needed to install by clients (some are simple, some are elaborate) - OS's intended to be supported And so on
For some needs, you may find gotomeeting.com to be an adequate alternative ($50US per month, for up to 10 attendees, unlimited meetings and duration, ability to share desktop either way, voice over telephone, available long distance conference call feature, option to record presentation, etc). It all depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're really interested in considering alternatives, there are many resources out there to help you weigh the many choices. Here are a couple I found just recently: http://www.thinkofit.com/webconf/realtime.htm http://www.kolabora.com/reviews.htm http://www.web-conferencing-zone.com/ For one reviewer's insights into the ins and outs of web conferencing, see: http://www.web-conferencing-zone.com/how-web-conferencing-works.htm Charlie Arehart CTO, New Atlanta Communications, makers of BlueDragon (678) 256-5395 [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.newatlanta.com/bluedragon/ > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dale Fraser > Sent: Monday, February 06, 2006 11:29 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [cfaussie] OT: Breeze Meetings > > > Hi, > > Have been trialling Breeze, it works quite well, but wondered > what others may have used. > > Also any ideas on why > > 1.
