Put up a quick blog post about this.. had to re-read things and confirm. Microsoft is giving away 3300AUD worth of software at webDU to all delegates. It really is a bona fide offer, can be used in production and so on.
Sounds mad but if you are in the market for SQL Server, Visual Studio and MSDN it's worth the price of the conference to just turn up and grab the software: http://blog.daemon.com.au/index.cfm?objectid=71EEAF70-EA69-0EC7-FFC5951B80029010 I've yet to see the actual EULA, but I suspect that its standard NFR which means you can use the pack for just about anything but can't upgrade from it or resell it and so on -- again you'll have to see for yourself. But I can confirm the promo copy is straight from Microsoft word for word. It's a cunning ploy i think because although I love SQL Server, I find myself using mySQL/Postgres more and more internally purely on the basis of price. If we don't use it day to day we're less likely to recommend it to clients. Can't wait to get reacquainted with SQL Server. -- geoff http://www.daemon.com.au/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "cfaussie" group.
