Sorry, I'm not following your line of thought here? If you are talking about physically moving the machine to another hosting company, won't you have the same issues with them regarding the hardware? If you are talking about moving the machine to your own location and hosting it yourself, then, as long as you own the machine, they shouldn't have a problem with that. I wouldn't expect them to take it back, if you decide to rehost it later. If what you are really trying to acheive is a scalability path for your site, I'd stick to using a hosting company. Afterall, that's their expertise. It saves you having to do it, learn it, and learning the hard way is some cases. And it lets you focus on your core skills. Unless of course, you want to switch and ultimately become a hosting company yourself.
