Heya Robin, thanks for the reply > > > Box Product sells for $1970 inc gst from the Adobe store > > You had $1970 from the Adobe Store (Maybe that was a US price > - but I also understand there was some sort of stuff up in
I've just gone to the Australian store here: http://www.macromedia.com/go/ols_au And its quoting me $1970. It lets me go all the way to checkout with this price. If thats a stuff up then someone better fix it quick or there'll be a lot of happy buyers around. > > Unlike the old Macromedia MVLP program the TLP program is > transactional, so the more you purchase at a time the more > opportunity you have to move into a higher level for that > sale. You are eligible for volume license with just one Does 'you' in this case mean 'me' or 'my client'. If I am purchasing CF for my client to be installed on their server do I count up the number of Adobe products they own? What if I buy 10 copies for 10 different clients, will I get a volume discount? > To purchase the media for an ESD (Electronic software > delivery - i.e. > license) purchase of CF7 $40.00 (RRP $47.61) To purchase > media that is NOT for ESD purchase $145.95 > Why would you pay $40 for ESD, when you can download the trial for free, and put the serial number into it? Does the concept of 'purchase media for ESD' sound like a contradiction? Or did I misunderstand what you meant. > > > 2yr Maintenence costs $1050 > > To purchase 2 year maintenance $883.70 Ok, we were quoted something different from our distributor. Will chase this up. Basically, there are a lot of changes that have come into play during the merger. It seems that Adobe is trying to make it less profitable to be a reseller of their products. Admitedly the cost of the server software is not a huge part of the income from a project, but it used to be a nice value add that we could offer our clients. I dont remember there being any official statement from Macromedia to their partners warning us that the whole licensing structure was going to change this significantly. I remember the good old days when you could look at a distrubutor price list, add 10%, and your client would be happy because they are still getting a discount from the RRP they see on the website. And Robin, I know you dont speak for Adobe here so I'm not complaining at you personally. But its been pretty difficult to get straight answers from either Adobe, or our distributors. Thanks for your time. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "cfaussie" group.
