I personally also would have said db a little while ago.  yet since
playing round with rss/xml i have come to the conclusion that the
easiest way to access information from ANY lanuage is xml...

and with coldfusion its a little too easy :)

sure if you have a lot of information then you need a db, however if
its just a contact list then i would look at a possible xml solution,
but also consider by putting it in a database you also offer a bit of
flexibility in that you can also generate an xml doc if you need 2 and
have the comfortable and stable world on a relational db... (unlike my
real world)

by using xml you could provide the information in a number of different
interfaces with ease making your solution a more rounded one and not
restricted to a user and a web browser.
