An email from Spike (Project Leader) to the CFEclipse mailing list below:

Just to set the record straight...

New Atlanta actually sponsored the creation and use of multiple dictionaries across projects, so it goes a little bit further than just stuff that benefits them.

Anyone who has projects using multiple versions of ColdFusion also gets the benefit of this feature because we now have dictionaries for CF 7, CF 6.1, and CF 5 in addition to the one for BlueDragon 6.2. On the project preferences page you can now specify what server version that project uses. When you open a file from that project, the content assist, syntax highlighting etc are driven by the dictionary file for that server version.

That means you can quickly see for any given file whether it is likely to work on a different version of ColdFusion or on BlueDragon.

We expect to expand this feature over time so you could check an entire project with a single mouse click. This won't give you 100% certainty that your code will run, but it should make it easier to move between server versions.

Kudos to Vince and New Atlanta. We can always use support like this.

Hmm, interesting.

What happened to the rumours that Macrobe was seriously throwing it's
weight behind [cf]eclipse, what with Flex Builder being built on eclipse
and all?

Cfeclipse has New Atlanta of BlueDragon as a commercial sponsor.

My question is, what happened to Adobe / Macromedia and CFEclipse?

Hrrm... shall be interesting.

Cheers
Gareth.
