I went down the same path, which is why I ended up passing the entire
HTML table via Ajax.  I am positive there are more elegant methods.
But I was suitably impressed with myself for passing the table with
javascript <tr> rollovers, inbuilt forms and sizable columns, all
within a scrollable div.
