We use SyncBack
(http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/syncback-hub.html) all over the
place, an excellent tool. A typical use is to run a CF script to dump a
DB into a spreadsheet and then FTP it off to the the side of the planet,
or the exact opposite! We actually have both of those operations running
on one clien'ts server :-) More mundanely doing automated, scheduled
backups regimes is just where it is at.

Note that copying MS SQL databases directly is not an easy task as they
are often locked. The most economic way to manage it from a backup
perspective is to schedule MS SQL to do a backup and then grab the
backup file immediately afterwards.

HTH,

Kym K
(About 3 months younger than Peter, in terms of CF at least!)
