On a day to day basis I use Mach-ii and ColdSpring and absolutely enjoy working with both, however there were numerous growing pains as mach-ii is quite rigid and 'kind of' forces you to think and develop in an OOP way. Mach-ii is definitely a big step up and be aware that the documentation for it is serverly lacking, though there are good sources scattered around the web.
Model-glue is similar in intent to Mach-ii, but a lot more approachable. For starters there is some really good documentation, a really active mailing list and of course Joe's famous 8 minute vidoes. :-). Unity (MG v2) now integrates seemlessly ColdSpring and Reactor (another ORM layer) and now introduces Rails like scaffolding. Since my approach is more OOP based, those would be the frameworks I'd recommend (I am not implying that you can't do OOP with FuseBox btw, I just haven't looked at it since version 3). If you are new to OOP then MG is probably the best way to go.
