Well, still another alternative to LiveCycle (which may be too much for som)
is the XPAAJ (XML/PDF Access API for Java) API that Adobe has created and
sells, but is now free to licensed CF users. Ben discusses it and offers
some sample code at this blog entry:

Acrobat 8 and Coldfusion 8 will do this, trust me. You will just have to
wait.
