Folks, As list-admin of CFAUSSIE I receive a steady trickle of complaints about various posters. I apologise if I've been remiss in adequately enforcing list etiquette and trying to maintain a sense of decorum on the forum.
I thought it might be worthwhile outlining the list policy I follow... If I receive a complaint, I investigate it. If the poster is in my opinion a serial offender I write to them. If they fail to curb their enthusiasm I temporarily suspend them. I've never had to take things further. I do not announce list suspensions, but they have happened. Behaviours worthy of complaint include: - spam (including job postings) - constantly posting off topic - abusive language (in a hard to offend Australian context) - ad hominem attacks - unsociable behaviour I realise there have been a few unsubscribes, and even efforts to create alternative lists. Hopefully I can encourage you to stick with us. Please feel free to raise complaints -- I will act on them. On that note... I have already received numerous complaints this week. I have written to those concerned. I will suspend them if they persist.
