About the only really, really frickin (polite -nearly 4:30am now) annoying thing I have found about Vista (apart from UAC) is it refused to show my my file folders just like I like them. You know. With little things like file extensions (.cfm, .zip, .jpg etc).
I mean come on! We are experts! But even for novices turning off the ability to identifiy a file by it extension (blame DOS) is more of a problem than a help. "Help Desk: 'yes but can you tell me the full filename, was it a .bat, .zip, .doc... etc). It was easy under XP to always show the .xxx for files, and still hide system and other hidden files, no issue. Under Vista it is a lot more obscure. NB: been working long and hard but a Google search for "show file extensions vista".... Until I found this link: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/1269/vista_show_unhide_file_extensions Vista is so obscure (even tried so-called online documentation) as to be well.... Aaarrrggghhh! Now I am happy - the one thing that really pissed me off about Vista has been solved.
