We have tried Groupcal and it didn't work out for some reason.

Is office 2008 available, he has tried Entourage also?

Does office 2008 for mac have outlook?

not 100% sure as I avoid Exchange environments whereever I can :) but as far
as I know the easiest way would be either MS Entourage 2004 or the new
Office 2008.

Also, there are two tools from Snerdware that promise some sort of a smooth
integration, but I've never used them - so you'd need to give it a try
yourself: Groupcal and AdressX
