I didnt build it but i've done some maintenance work on it. And i
agree. Under the hood it's pretty good too.

Believe it or not, it was built by people learning as they go. They
built it with the docs on one screen and CFWACK open on the desk.
It's sort of how the whole business has happened. One of the
principals of the business is really more into IT than the business.
It's mostly his hobby that has grown to become his life.

For people that dont know, oo.com.au is a business that sells factory
overstocked items. They have hundreds - maybe thousands - of SKUs on
the catalogue - watches, jewellery, bikes, electronic items .. all
kinds of stuff. They have outgrown several warehouses. They buy
up run-out stock items or items that are overstocked (hence the name)
and sell them through their web site and through their email
broadcasts.

They are innovative in quite a few ways, including the way they handle
customer service. They've been highlighted on tv recently for hiring
customer service people who are stay-at-home mothers, working from
home at any hours they choose.

The site is doing huge business now, starting only a few years ago
from a good idea and the revenue is in the millions.

One of the amazing things about this site is it was built by people
who knew little about web development when they began. Try THAT in
any other technology!
