Regardless of the "prettyness" setting, its a 40k image. CF8s image resize feature has about 15 or so options for how to resize. These range from "Really pretty and slow" to "Really fast and not so pretty." CF defaults to really pretty. You should try playing around with the resize options to find a good medium for you.
