Brett, by referring to me (in the original message in the thread) I suppose you may be pointing to my list of alternatives for processing Excel files in CF (http://www.carehart.org/cf411/#excel). Are you saying you've tried them all? Just checking to know what options you've considered.
Back to Ben's, I've not used that one yet myself (my list is just a pointer to alternatives, not a review or comment on them). But you say it has a "java object error.". Are you familiar enough with using Java inside of CF to tell us if the problem you're getting may be with simply being able to use *any* java inside of CF, or more specifically whatever Java object it tries to use? There are various things that can get in the way (like were you told to get some Java library, and if so did you put it in the right place, configure things to find it if needed, and restart CF)? Again, on my list I offer several choices that do not involve Java, if that's some unique challenge there. Hope that helps. /charlie > -----Original Message----- > From: cfaussie@googlegroups.com [mailto:cfaus...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf > Of > Brett Payne-Rhodes > Sent: Tuesday, July 27, 2010 4:29 AM > To: cfaussie@googlegroups.com > Subject: Re: [cfaussie] Read an Excel spreadsheet... > > Thanks Zac, > > I've looked at POI via Ben Nadal's POIutility.cfc but I couldn't get it to > read > the file at all - it generated a Java object error.
