I'll back up the interminable wait across some network drives for eclipse generally not just flash or cfbuilder.
It often seems to go into this state when there are folders with lots of small files. Particularly artifactual ones like the stubs dreamweaver generates for its internal reasons or subversion integration. As said - just wait it out and trial start pointed at local and or clean network directories.
