I have had similar before.
I usually just delete my cache of the class and force it all to recompile.
However, it could be related to parameter or return types.
Also, I assume you are running all the updates on Cold Fusion ?
Other than that, I generally run it as a direct call from a Web Browser
(sometimes extra errors come up) or comment out the whole guts of the
method and slowly introduce bits - sometimes this reveals things that my
eye does not normally see.
