Hi,

To do READ in MX you do not require a LOCK (though sometimes under special circumstances you you need to LOCK when you READ)

You need to LOCK ALWAYS WHEN SETTING/WRITING.

Automatic Read Locking creates a slight over head on the server and it was i think only avaliable in 4.5 and 5 from the top of my head...

Subject: [cfaussie] Automatic Read Locking

Hi All,

The ColdFusion Locking Best Practices document http://www.macromedia.com/v1/handlers/index.cfm?id=17318&method=full#1
states that there is an option on the locking page of the ColdFusion Administrator to enable automatic read locking.

Does this still exist in cfmx?

If so, where is it?

Thanks,
Phil.
