Hi Scott,
>http://www.microsoft.com/security/slammer.asp > >www.readingcinemas.com.au was hit today with it And a lot of others, I can assure you. We had one machine, a client's co-located box, that got attacked, and it saturated our pipes, our LANs and caused all sorts of mayhem. The one machine was pouring out traffic at 66Mbps! The whole Internet was hit and hard. We killed it quick smart, as did most ISPs, by stopping it dead at the routers so you might find that you cannot reach your SQL servers right now (see posts on CFTalk about that). We just turned the client's box off, no choice as they did not answer the phone :-( That is why we hate unmanaged co-located machines, few folk know how to mind them..... -- Yours, Kym --- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MX Downunder AsiaPac DevCon - http://mxdu.com/
