There were rumours about Microsoft acquiring Macromedia around Christmas, which were started by an article on Computer Business Review Online (www.cbronline.com; free registration required). The story was then picked up by the Register (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/28667.html). It was also mentioned on the list, but there weren't any comments from anyone at Macromedia, and with the timing of the article it has gone under the radar of most CFAussie regulars. I haven't heard anything about it since then, but it would be good to hear Macromedia say it's not true... The implications for the web could be severe if this deal did happen.
