That's likely an operating system issue. The JVM you have installed is going to determine a lot of default setting based on where it finds itself. It seems plausible that Linux is UNICODE by default -- where as Windows is likely to be set to the character set of your locale setting. Just a thought.I am using CFMX and setting the charset value did fix the problem. However, it worked correctly in CFMX under Linux without the charset value being set. Its just strange that it works differently under the different operating systems and under the different versions of CFMX. We're running Enterprise under Solaris and Pro under Linux.
