Hi All,

A quick OT - recently at Lonely Planet we have redeveloped our travel forum, Thorn Tree, which included the migration over to Cold Fusion.

http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com

Previously written in Mod PERL, the older version (found at http://tt2.lonelyplanet.com/thorn/branches.pl) was long overdue for a revamp.

The conversion to CF involved us purchasing a copy of FuseTalk (http://www.fusetalk.com/), of which I then took a chisel and hammer to and massaged the code extensively to our needs. The end result is quite dramatically different under the hood to the original FT code, incorporating new functionality, along with making use of Verity for the search engine.

Some info about Thorn Tree:

-         largest/busiest travel forum online

-         50,000+ registered users

-         averaging 6000 messages posted per day

Since the migration, these stats are on the rise! More good publicity for Cold Fusion!

"On the 8th day, God said, 'Let There Be Cold Fusion' ..."

Cya,

Sarah.
