*sigh* I have no idea... I went back over the code, couldn't find a problem,
commented out the offending line and ran the page. Everything's fine. Great.
So I removed the comments and ran the page again, and now everything's
running just dandy.

Go figure.

Methinks my browser might have simply decided to take a short holiday from
reason... *grumble*
